Baltimore Treefort and Castle

Saturday morning at the Stanford Shopping Center.
Our donated playhouse is moved to its display location by a big fork lift. Jeff Suzanne & I add the rope net, coil climber and spiffed it up. A young friend showed up to kid-test everything for us!

The Dreams Happen playhouse leaves our workshop!

Tomorrow it will get moved into the Stanford Shopping mall to be on display for 1 month with 14 other donated playhouses. On June 1, all playhouses will be auctioned to raise money for Rebuilding Together.

It was tricky getting the completed playhouse out the door & turned 90 degrees on the dock so that the forklift could pick it up.Thanks to my great crew - Marco, Jose, Jose Luis, Rudi, Eric and also to my fantastic business partners Jeff, Suzanne & James.

Our nice neighbors on South Maple in South San Francisco chipped in to help too - JMB Construction provided the fork lift and CB Trucking provided the lowboy trailer and made the delivery.

Thanks to everyone for getting it made & there!

Wow! check this out!

Work continues at a happy but frantic pace on the Dreams Happens donation playhouse.

Top photo: Marco installs the 4 skylights & ceiling.

Middle photo: the guys roll the playhouse into the detailing bay. Heavy! The playhouse is so big it can only be finished over there where there’s an extra large door on that side of the building for when it’s ready to deliver.

Bottom photo: my dear friend Roxanne skips a day at her real job to work an 11 hour day helping us stain the playhouse. This playhouse will be auctioned on June 1st to raise money for Rebuilding Together - a great non-profit that coordinates volunteer labor to fix up the homes for our elderly, disabled and low income neighbors. Thanks to everyone for pitching in!

Dreams Happen 2013!

My nephew Wes fixing my bicycle. He came from Montana as a guest worker for the big treehouse project. That’s the Kew Gardens Cottage behind the bike, ready & waiting to be shipped to Florida. Inside there’s a loft with a blue ladder up to it. It’s my favorite of our “standard ” playhouse designs (other photos on our website.)

Here’s my new design for our donated playhouse for the Dreams Happen charity auction. Is it really 2 years already? I love doing it but it practically kills us every time. More to come as we turn my from-the-gut sketch into scaled elevations and then the real deal: 8ft x 10ft x 12ft high house of heart and light.

New zipline! Another happy group of kids!
